Hello. I had to replace an older door with a new door today. When I hung it, the hinges didn't match the sizes from the door to the door frame. There is about a 1" difference from the slots on the door from the slots on the pre-existing frame.

What do I need to do to get this resolved so I can get my door hung.

Some slightly more precise info is required to be of any real help.

It's unusual to have a new door with hinges cut in already.

Use the old hinges?

Make the cut-outs on the frame larger, or use filler to make them smaller, (not sure which way around your problem is).

If the cut-outs on the frame are larger then line the new doors hinges up with the bottom of the cut-out, (otherwise it's just resting on filler).
