you lose your dong about a year after marriage or first kid what ever comes first, so I'm informed

Friedland bells are good for the money fitted a few over the years without issues

Yes Friedland are very good, but he has a Byron. (Which is why I want to make sure which one he actually has)

The above is the same doorbell as dewaltdisney has. (Got it today)

I will be honest, I have never heard of a doorbell that runs on 9v before, but this one does.

Obviously the wire is short. Strait out of the box, connect bell push, connect battery, press button, dong. release button, ding.

dewaltdisney, assuming it is wired the same as in my picture, get a £1 coin (old or new) and momentarily put it across where you see the white wire in my picture, what happens? (I am also assuming the red and black wires are already connected)

My Siemens MP3 will run from 8 to 10V tranny and/or 2 x 1.5V C cells. I'll put a link up when I have time.

https://www.in-excess.com/collections/s ... hime-dcw20

That's the product. and it says it cannot be run on a tranny. That is incorrect.

Now all I've got to do is scan the actual MI's and upload them...

Sorry had to put a couple of edits in there trying to get the destructions up.

When I bought mine some years ago it was nearly £ 40... soo £ 6.95 is a bargain.

In-excess are a lot cheaper...

@SE

When I bridge the contacts the striker pin draws back but not enough to strike the right hand plate and dings the left hand plate as it returns under spring power when the power is cut. I took the return spring out and it struck the right hand plate this time but obviously it could not return under spring power to strike the left. I tried three different batteries, all new, with the same result.

This would indicate to me that the spring is too strong. What do you think??

Thanks for the help so far :thumbright:

I have only just now noticed something on mine, that may be missing from yours. Give me 10 minutes to make a short video.

Thanks for doing all that SE, very impressed.

Checking my bell it has that wire but it is a lot thinner than on your bell. So I bridged it with a bent paperclip and then did the pound coin across the switch contacts but the result is the same. So, after eliminating the power and switching it only leaves the over strong spring left.

What do you think?

I am sitting here with the back off, and the spring is not strong at all.
Have you taken the back off of yours (Like I did in the clip?) just wondering has any packing got in there?
