Looking to build a dolls house for the little one (3) this Christmas, and was wondering if anyone here has done it before? Did you use a kit or start from scratch?

Cheers.

I built one 10 years ago for my now 14yr old, my 8yr old got that afew years ago now as i'll NEVER EVER BUILD ANOTHER it took weeks to build properly and decorate and find all the things that go in it. If you can buy a kit house do it, but remember you'll have to decorate it, paint it, and buy the furniture and little dolls for it. All the best and good luck.

cheaper to buy a complete kit rather than buy the basic windows doors

As Big Al says cheaper to buy a kit.
Although at 3 it would better to have a look in ELC for ideas if you want to build one, you don't need opening doors or windows at that age.
Other places are dollshouse workshop, dollshouse emporium etc search google.

Kit first - obviously, but if the child is of the right age and you like to spend time with him/her then building one together is fun. I did this with my son (it was a bus terminal, complete with all double/single deckers) and had loads of fun. Print 'brick' and 'tile' wall paper on your printer.....

Asda are currently selling a doll's house half price.

If you want to make it more personal and build it yourself then I understand.

Here is the link.
