Hi, someone has kindly given me 2 bags of bal goldstar which is a grey adhesive, the tiles I want to use are ceramic and a sort of a marble colour with ivory grouting.
Could someone tell me if the adhesive colour will show through and make a difference? I don't want to have to buy white addy unless I have to.
Thanks.

i know that with some natural materials like travertine you have to use white adhesive otherwise the colour of the adhesive can bleed through, but i don't think it matters with ceramics, i have never had a problem using grey adhesive anyway.

I agree with owen, but to be 100% sure you could always test it by sticking one tile to a scrap piece of plasterboard etc.

We've just bought the adhesive for the bathroom tiles and we got the advice that it depends on how neat you are.

The problem is not the adhesive colour showing through the tile but showing through the grout

If too much adhesive squidgish up between the tiles the greay colour can show through the grout

Bal goldstar will be fine...........as long as (as mentioned) you don't get it squidging up from the joints. So run a few tiles and then before the next row........run your trowel along the edges to prevent squidge :thumbright:
