I declined to tile the inlaws bathroom for them, i had far to much on, plus im not keen on it anyway.
They have had a friend of theirs do it intead. Hes a builder Rolling Eyes

Making a real nice job of it so far!!! Shocked Rolling Eyes

IMG]http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e302/Hitachimad/06-12-07_1603.jpg[/IMG]

Looks like hes started to tile around the cistern, then realised he couldnt finish it like that beceause the lid wouldnt come off Laughing

Theres a few other bits i couldnt capture on camera, such as in the window reveals, intead of removing the bullnose upvc trim around the window, then tiling, and refitting the trim, hes cut the tiles upto it, and filled the gap on the radius of the trim with silicone! Laughing

And of course, the unevenness of the gaps and tile surfaces that you can imagine!

a builder is generally a tradesman.
alot are brickys and they should really know their limits.

I watched one of those Sarah Beany Property ladders - two guys in mansfield I thnink it was - one of them had not clue, each time told his mate that he wuld get a pro in, then do it himself, f*ck it up and get the pro in to undo then REDO the work.
Anyway - he does the Bathroom tiling - mosaics - and not sure of you could do a worse job if you were blind! seruoiusly terrible. Other guy sees it and gets his dad in - A professional tiler for 20 years or something to redo it.
the finished result would make Hitches BILs effort look supreme Shocked
What an abortion - so it is isn't just DIY jobs that are sh*t!! (Admittedly the Hitch BIL one is totally off the wall Sad (or will be soon Laughing )

Well.........this is a job that was done by a so called pro tiler...........for an insurance job.

£70 a metre Brazillian slate, onto 25mm chipboard..........with Bal fast flex. (Which is a shite to remove)

Look at the scratches Rolling Eyes

It was done by a firm of property maintenance bods scratch

I got called to look at it and would'nt touch it until the lot had been ripped up, and the chipboard replaced with 25mm ply. They had boarded the floor when the kitchen was replaced. (Flood damage)

So they then had to cut right up against the units to reboard.
Then pay me to re-tile it.............I did get paid as well........but they did make me wait 3 months cussing
