We have had work done on the outside of the house and the workmen have blocked the air vent, so everytime i ask the workmen should it be blocked know one can give me a answer, so as the kitchen is 12foot x 12 foot i was wondering if we need the air vent as we do have an extractor fan.

Do you have a gas cooker or hob?

Do you have a window or door opening to fresh air outside. (not into a lean to or other prefabrication)

It's a gas cooker. We have 2 windows and the cooker is by the backdoor but we don't open it as it blows the gas (thats what she tells me)

Then no, you don't need a vent with your size kitchen.
