Hi

Do stained looking bricks indicate a damp problem please? I'm concerned about two different types of stain.

1) 90% low to the ground, below the damp proof course, some areas of brickwork have yellowy-green staining. Looks to me like maybe some sort of very fine moss. There are one or two individual bricks higher up with this also.

2) Much larger areas (sort of 2-3m wide by 1-2m deep) of dull greyish whitish staining to bricks. The areas seem to coincide with the tops of rooms. So, on one corner of the house there is a patch coinciding with the top of the ground floor, then there is a break for the ceiling and the lower half of the upper floor, then the staining starts again for the top of the upper floor room.

'ppreciate any ideas.
