Been trying for 3 days to contact Express Van Insurance to cancel my policy, and all I get are bloody options, music, jokes and news (the last 2 must be their idea of light hearted fun)

I've made 8 phone calls, been on hold, pressed all sorts of options and not a human being anywhere. Christ alive, what is it with insurance companies???

Is their number a premium rate number? I almost got caught with a broker who only wanted to keep you on the line and earn him money on the call.

Email or snail mail might work.

'Tis very annoying though, trying to get through on the phone to those who don't appear to like being contacted.

I tried to make an appointment at my doc last year for a flu-jab - the letter said phone or do it on-line - I gave up after ten minutes on the phone and tried on-line - it wasn't much better - I know the flu-jabs are done in the *treatment room* by nurses (not doctors) but couldn't make an appointment for one - I just made any old appointment and put in that it was for a flu jab - they phoned me back later to tell me my appointment was wrong but did make the new appointment for me at the same time - that's better, you phone me and it's easy. :huray:

Another thing I notice, you might be waiting in a queue, the person everyone is queuing to see has no qualms about answering the phone and gabbing forever - how come they don't answer it when I call? Why don't they leave the call until the queue is gone - the queue was there before the phone call! :cussing:

It's funny you should say that wine~o..................

I've e-mailed their customer services tonight, but I'm not really holding out much hope. I can see it coming down to just cancelling the direct debit and ending it there. I hear of a few people having to resort to that.

They treat existing customer like s**t, and simply get their business too easily IMO. All they want is new customers, and once they've got you, then they start d!cking you around.

Oh, I could use language that's not part of polite society this evening. :angryfire:

Most companies do that. The place I work for do that as well.

As for Doctors and phones that's easy. The phones are often monitored for response times, queues of people are not monitored. Daft but true.

Thankfully is an 0800 number, but nothing would surprise me with these outfits.
