Hi All, I've been browsing this site for a while and thought it's about time I created a thread for my loft conversion. It's a detached bungalow with a decent size loft, we're creating 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a store area (for the boiler and usual attic stuff!). I've carried out all of the work myself, with the exception of a few mates for lifting!

It's been on going for the last 18 months or so but I only really get time to work on it during the weekend, so future updates may appear a little slow!

We've had full plans created and building control are involved.

The start of the steel fitting, I had to remove 3 concrete lintels before fitting the pad stones - they were bloody heavy too!

The rear gable, I forgot to add that the steels have a 12mm plate welded to the bottom flange, the outer skin had to be cut for it to slot in.

I had a company called TK Stairs to make the stairs, it was delivered flat pack so just needed to be built. I didn't take any before pictures here so they're pretty much just during/after

Thanks both. It's been a slog, took 6 months just to get the steel work in! Starting to see real progress now though.

The insulation is Superquilt - double layered.
