Hello there,
A bit of a daft question really, but is it possible to convert a PIR light to an ordinary light by diconnection/removal/bypass of the PIR part ?? Or is it just plain simpler to install a new light .
Thanks in advance for any replies, I'm unable to access internet during the day, will look in later tonight.
cheers baz

Yes it is easy to change to a normal light.

This presupposes that the supply to the PIR light IS switched.

TURN OFF THE SUPPLY TO THE PIR FITTING BY PULLING THE FUSE OR SWITCHING OFF THE MCB -

Open up the unit and locate the terminal block.

You will see Neutral (N), Live (L) and Earth connections these will have the incoming supply connected. And there will be fourth connection on the terminal block, the Switched Live (SL) which will have no connections entering from the outside world but there will be either 1 or 2 cables connected to this terminal. One will be the cable going to the lamp from the output of the PIR - simply connect this to the Live (L) terminal instead.
