I have a Dimplex XL n storage heater - I can't find the thermal switch anywhere!
I did cover it and it wont heat up now, there is power going in and I put a new thermostat in!

I read your older post about the location of the thermal switch on top beside the controls but I can't see it!! Help!

Thanks a lot!

with the power turned off, take the lid off and it is next to the controls. look for a round disc with a little button in the middle.

failing that take a photo and post it, we can show you where it is.

no wonder you are struggling, it is not where it used to be.
can you take a picture face on so i can see the controls and also one where the cable comes into the heater at the bottom.

I have exactly the same problem. However if you took a photo of the front you'd still not see anywhere where the thermal cut out could be. Are you sure it isn't part of the input control - there is a little 1mm tube at the back which comes off that maroon block. Is there something on the block - see photo- that doesn't need resetting? There is a tab that points up that could be something?

The repair kit for one of these shows just the input control assembly and lists it as being the input / cut out unit. There doesn't seem to be a disc or button item to use when repairing the XLN.

I reckon its on the white block. It's been a while since I last had a look inside one of these, but the reset button was definitely at the top (where it gets hot)
