I want to install a digital thermostat for my central heating giving me more control setting temp, for example 20C between 6pm and 11pm, 15C between 11 and 7 and so on, WIFI would be nice but not essential.

Currently in the temperature is set by a Honywell manual wheel type thermostat and a Honywell ST9400C controller where one sets the timers.

There seems to be a lot of digital thermostats on the market ranging from £20 to a couple of hundred pounds.

Any help anyone as what I need?

Wasn't to sure where to post this.

Just to start the discussion: you need a thermostat with Set Back for temperature, usually a programmable thermostat which would have time and temperature settings, as an example a Salus RT500RF but much more info required about your present set up for a Heating Expert to advise, as the Salus RT500RF receiver needs to be wired in correctly with your ST9400C or you change that too.

Simplest solution would be to replace the room thermostat with a Honeywell 907 and leave the heating set to continuous on your 9400c.

Or if you want wifi stuff, look at the Honeywell Lyric 6
