I am looking for some help to wire this.

It is to control a heater i a fish tank, the heater has a transformer plug so plan to put a socket off the controller.

I am presume

1 is for a live
2 and 3 are for neutral an earth.

Now for the out wire am I correct to think 5 is for live 6 and 7 are for neutral and earth?

No your wrong, from your picture of the controller the markings are unclear and do not make sense. the earth would not be connected to the controllers switching terminals . Is there any shrouding over those exposed terminals or is that it ??? if so , it needs to be mounted in an enclosure . If you have any instructions can you post a picture and we might be able to assist further.

Yes it has cover over the terminals

No instructions, I have emailed to the supplier asking them for some.

Meanwhile found a very similar controller with the following diagram.

so do 1 = Live
2 wire to 4

wire from 4 to heater
wire 5 Neutral

Or am I still wrong? ::b

Yes your still wrong.

if its as per your diagram then this is how it should be wired:-

terminal 1=live to heater
terminal 2= live from terminal 3
terminal 3=live from mains supply and a link cable to terminal 2
terminal 4= neutral from mains supply and neutral to heater (together in same terminal)
terminal 5= spare not in use
terminal 6=spare not in use
