I have dug out the area and now digging the wall foundations. I Digging the foundations (can't get power into back garden). I need a tool to dig down upto 1. 5meter as digging through soft clay... What would you recommend ie Pole spade, fibre glass handle? Or make. I'm based in the UK. These are the ones I've seen. I

A post hole digger is for digging post holes.

Its less of a digger, mostly used for grabbing the loose soil in a hole.

I would have thought you need a builders shovel and a spadd. A mattock for breaking up the ground.

I have an axe, but spare and sledge hammer so wonder which one of these three tools tools would be best for me to dig down a 600 mm down x 350 wipe tent?

I'm now down to soft clay, and wonder which tool would you recommend for the remaining 600 mm deep trench... a 1. pincher, 2. trench shovel or 3. mattock?
