Isn't the colour different?
Seems to me though that like a lot of these things the only way to be sure would be to either get it tested by someone with one of those instant analysis instruments, or to measure the density, which would require an accurate measure of volume (by displacement?) and accurate weighing. I don't really know how practical that is.

Between those two, the copper berylium will look slightly redder than the aluminium bronze.

Spectrometry is used in labs to see what composition some metals are, somehow measures light reflected by the metal when a spark is fired at it or something like that.
