All I've heard of is bad news about those adaptors on the dewalt talk group forum.
The flexvolt batteries are 100 quid a pop and I wouldn't risk em in a knock-off adapter.

Just noticed it's the one from the USA! The ones on sale in the uk aren't genuine.

yes i know i bought a fake as it said dewalt under description and was £50 rather than £25 ish all the rest where selling for so took that as a genuine import rather than a cheap knock off but it was a chinease copy but used it for a week whilst i sourced a genuine one from america for £56 not the company i linked to but the nearest on cost as a genuine item
it came with all the usual bumf that dewalt send out and an impossible to open blister pack
the ears are what helps you differentiate as only the genuine seem to have them and only from america
the knock off was a bad colour had a sticker in chinease on it and the workings where held in by silicon

ok quick update the ears on the adapter are to prevent it being connected to a flexivolt battery
the chinease version does not have these to can [wrongly]be connected to flexivolt batteries

They aren't alone, B-A. Two colleagues have tried, and failed, to get adaptors which work on the mk.1 2nd fix guns. From contacts in the USA I'm aware that those bguns won't work with the DW adaptors and that some of the knock-off adaptors will work, but that you run the risk of damaging the batteries. That was the main reason I went to Li-Ion rather than keeping my old, but still very reliable, guns.

i am quite pleased really
i now have a knock off adapter that i wont ever use except in low power tools for a few mins no more then unplug and never with the flexivolt batteries as the correct one has precluded that option for a reason
with the correct dewalt adapter used 95-97% off the time
to be honest with the 2x6ah batts that can work the table saw and slider[pull miter saw] with 2x5ah that can cover the slider and the old tools [track saw' angle drill 'angle grinder' impact drill'three speed drill'recip saw'jig saw and spiral saw converted with a plunge base to a light router ] theres more than enough flexability with virtually no chance off down time with 22ah off battery capacity

as an aside i am so so impressed with the quality and accuracy off both the table and pull saw
with the table saw being extremely accurate and easy to use with the fence on a rack and pinion drive to both ends and the fence extending off the side off the table to give fully supported cuts over 2ft wide from the blade is really really handy on sheet material :huray:

If your on Facebook just type 'dewalt talk group' in the search bar. It's a closed group and they pretty much try and only let tradesfolk in. Just make sure your Facebook profile/job title etc indicates you are involved in the industry.
It's a very good group, loads of very knowledgable guys and you'll get an answer on anything dewalt.

ok further update
the new adapter has worked faultlessly so decided to get another but the origional was on ebay so chose another from america from amazone for a similar price
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B016K1UD0E/ ... 11_TE_item
two days later out for delivery from a uk source
feared the worse assumed an updated copy as the colour was right and it has the ears
arrived at seven in the correct blister pack even opened it up and checked and its identical inside no silicon or cheap component like the hooky one :thumbright:

I'm off to Thailand next month. I think they have a couple DeWalt stores over there so might invest in a couple things over there.
