I thought it was the battery, but it isn't. Seems to have lost a lot of power and it stops working altogether when on its left side.
I am guessing that this is a terminal fault, but just in case anyone knows what is up and has an idea for a fix?
Cheers
Nick

Assuming it's done a fair bit of work, I'd have a look at the brushes first.

That makes sense. I've just opened it up, I can see the brush assembly but I have no idea how to remove it to check on the brushes. I've had a quick look online but can't see anything that helps. I wonder if you (or anyone) has a suggestion / link?
Thanks
Nick

Can't really help much with specifics I'm afraid.
There's an exploded drawing here
http://www.powertoolspares.com/tool/dew ... e2/spares/
It looks from that as if the brushes might be an assembly with their boxes.
So I'd assume that the boxes unclip somehow, but I don't know for sure.

Hey, you were absolutely correct.
Got the saw apart and the spring had failed on one of the brushes (hence the right-handedness / gravity helping etc.).
I'm replacing both.
Grateful for your help here.
Nick :-)
