i thought DeWalt is top of the tree?

makita et al are a close 2nd etc?

its all to do with different tools throught each manufacturers range
all the big manufacturers get it right 90 to 95% off the time
all manufacturers in a bid to cut costs make mistakes with quality unreliable sources ect

if you have had one off the duff batches or models it can turn you completly against that make
the manufacturers will learn there lessons and not make the same mistake for a while but they need to keep competative with prices and innovations so further clangers will be dropped

I bought that drill last year for the same price. It is excellent tool and is versatile in use from gentle screw driving to hammer action drilling. I think that this kit is sold off because they have been stockpiled for a time and the battery life might not be as long as you may expect. The package is basically the price of the batteries.

MY 12v Dewalt had given up on both batteries and the drill is redundant now as they are not cost effective to replace.

i think its just to get rid off old nicad stock once the supply off nicads have worked through from the manufacturers they will no longer be made
only nmh or li-ion will be made after that

Which wont matter if you have dewalt tools as the li ion batts are retro fitted to the tools unlike makita and others!

exactly thats why i keep saying ryobi and dewalt as they are the only 2 as far as i know to be forward and backwards compatable
