my neighbour had some decking done by some scallies and they wandered in with 6x2's un tanalised. they did what you did and got them down. i didnt get on with the neighbours so i never said anything.
this was 3 years ago and they are still down.
you say you will only be there for 4 years. if that is the case then you may well be ok but the unfortunate people that buy your house wont have a lovely decking area for very long after they move in.
tim suggestion would be the right one if you were staying, though i fear you will not chuck them now.
just take it as a lesson learnt that 'select timber' is not tanalised. when you get your next house im sure your new decking area will be fully tanalised Thumbright

to be honest I cant afford to chuck it, I did have a £700 budget for the garden and thats almost all been eat up by this decking. The best I can do after looking is using a product ike sadolin wood preserver, if its good enough for the raw cut ends of joists and posts then it's better than nothing......

The 8 joists I order this weekend will definately be pre treated though......

5 years time and decking will be out (although I have read that already..;)

Unfortunately as with most things in life you learn from your mistakes.....I just hope I dont learn mine by dropping through the decking into that 6ft grave the missus has had me dig in the footings...;)
