Hi All,

New to the forum, registered to ask this question as I can't find the answer anywhere else.

Yesterday I oiled my decking with "Cuprinol decking oil and protector". I had around 1 litre left from last year, and a new 5 litre tin. I started with the old stuff, oily consistency, applied fine. After a good shake I opened the new tin, surprised to find a milky consistency/colour. Gave it another shake and still the same so I applied it to a small test area and within a minute it had lost its milky appearance and looked the same as the stuff treated with the old tin, so I assumed they'd changed the formula and treated the rest of the deck.

This morning after some rain over night (deck had at least 9 hours on a warm sunny day before the rain to dry), the section treated with the old oil has water pooled on top, as I would expect, the rest has no water pooled as if it hasn't been treated.

Have I had a bad batch of the product this year, or done something wrong? Is everything fine/normal?

Thanks in advance.

Rich
