The school holidays start in 6 weeks.
It'd be good to have a list of family friendly places or events across the country. Any suggestions?

Chatsworth House :thumbright:

I have fleeting memories of that place - Fleeting mainly due to be driven around the grounds at 80 MPH by a customer saying "This place is great. It p*sses over all the othe stately houses".
Interesting Description

Back on topic ....

Try this website .... Find a free day out in the UK!

or maybe here .... Free days out for the family this summer - last years guide but may still be handy

Hoovie,

I've never been even though we are local to Chatsworth. I've got my own group to look after, to check they don't damage themselves on the play area equipment and that I don't leave any behind in the farm area!

The link is good but I wondered whether personal recommendation would be better.

I can't think of any myself, sorry

What could be fun is get a cheap tent and have a weekend camping - that would be fun.

The Sidmouth Festival starts on 1st August and loads of kids (and Adults) enjoy that - music all over the place, srumpy on tap, sunbathing on the beach during the day and BBQs in the evening on the beach.
And once that Festival is over, the Sidmouth Regatta then starts :thumbright:

I guess I am a bit spoilt living in a place that people actually go to for Summer, rather then leave

Hoovie,

you are lucky! In an ideal world What I need is a relative with a spare field so that we can camp with the dog and a private beach! We've spent one night on the back lawn so far!

I wonder what Warwick Castle is like these days, I've not been for years!

There's a few not-so-secret secret bunkers around the country.

They're no longer secret because the cold war fizzled out 18 years ago.
