Hi All,
I pulled up my kitchen floor, I intend to level and tile it.
I found that by the back door there is what appears to be a reinstatement only 15mm thick on top of earth - the floor in the area was damp.

I want to break this out and replace it but don't know how to make sure no damp gets through.
I have done a lot of searching, and found lots of ways of damproofing the whole floor, but not a small reinstatement?
Any advice appreciated.

There are actually slates underneath.
The main slab of concrete appears to be about 30mm thick concrete on tarred paper.

Working purely on guess work I primed with waterproof PVA and, put down a little patch of DPM, primed again, then filled in with 1:1:1:0.5 concrete, sand, PVA, water.

Seemed to work.

It's not somthing I have ever done before, hence I never replied.

I hope your solution works.

Normally slate is a good DPC material it self and is often used as a DPC for some properties.
