hi,

we recently bought a buy-to-let which required damp proofing on various walls.

this has been done, walls plastered, and then finally, we painted the walls yesterday.

we noticed this morning that one of the walls which had had the damp proof treatment, seemed to have a couple of damp patches. The rest of the walls which have received the treatment seem to be fine, it's just this one small wall that has a couple of patches on it.

are we right to fear the worst? ie. it hasn't been damp-proofed properly and will need doing again? or could it be a case of some residual damp from the plastering etc that will dry out over a short period and we will be ok?

it would be a nightmare if we had to get the wall redone, as we have now painted it, put flooring down etc, etc.

any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Hi Rich,

I know where Big-All is coming from, probably just drying out if not too long ago. Get a dehumidifier in there!
