Hi All,

The house wall which leads through to our conservatory has a fine crack that I cant get rid of where the previous owner filled in the existing doorway to put patio doors in further along the wall. The crack runs all around the old door outline. To complicate it further, there is a radiator the other side of this wall they have fitted (kitchen wall), so the pipes are running down inside the wall to the radiator. Tried every type of filler - the crack always comes back. The only thing I haven't tried is easifill. Tried every type of flexible filler, normal filler, deep hole filler and it just won't go. Has anyone got any ideas what to try next - it's driving me slowly mad...Thanks! Amanda

Toupret scrim tape over the crack then fill over with easifill and leave for half an hour before gently sponging over to feather out. Leave to go hard, then fill over again to cover. Leave to dry, then sand. Fill in thin layers until you are happy with the result.

It might be worth checking that the underlying work is not moving at all and is securely fixed.

Thanks Jozeffo - I will certainly give that a go. I think you may be right and I should check the work underneath - the doorway outline is suspiciously raised on both sides of the wall. Either it's been plastered by an incompetent or there is something else lurking...Thanks for your advice. Amanda xx
