Just wondered what was the minimum lengths people would use when coving.

Not meaning a full length then a little infill as some walls are just too long.

I am meaning all the bits left over, would you string them together or save them for little alcoves?

Also would you try and put a join in the centre of a long run (not enough for one length) or just where the other one finishes

As few joins as possible and always join on a mitre to help lose it.

just not worth it... a run gets the minimum number of cuts possible... (not allowing for using 3.6 lengths as opposed to 3m lengths) i get a box per room or if it needs an extra length, i get one...
I wouldnt try and use 3 or 4 offcuts just to save a length... if its full house, or a floor including landing / hallway etc then i tend to find theres usually a good few places you only need a little bit anyway...

dunno about anyone else but I dont think i could make 4 offcuts on one run look straight anyway, even if i did hide the joints well enough, if the ceiling was even a tad wobbly, so would the coving be...

Fair enough, will dig out and see what i have got. Have been using 3m lengths and i know a couple of walls are over that so 1 and an offcut then.

3.6 wouldn't do it either so will stick with the 3's.

Didn't know you could buy singles, so will keep that in mind as there a pig to store. Just be a pig to get home instead.
