Hi all,

I have a static caravan which I have been carrying out a few repairs and updates to and I have decided to fit a gas stove in place of the standard and extremely dated radiant LPG gas fire.

the only problem is, that the stove I intend to use is set up for natural gas. I have called the manufacturer of the fire and they don't want to help me, even though they sell an LPG version of the stove. :cb

To this end, what can be done to convert this stove to run on the LPG bottles used for the caravan??

Thanks :-)

My advice is to throw it in the skip.

It's a £1500 gas stove fire, so unfortunately the skip isn't a very good option.

I don't really get the relevance of asking the old gas fire manufacturers for help and advice on converting your new gas stove

Would it not be better to call the gas stove/cooker manufacturers for an LPG kit? They usually cost around £40

it will probably be a safety issue to stop unqualified people tampering with gas

I called the manufacturer of the new fire, sorry if that wasn't clear. They didn't want to know, for safety reasons again I suspect.

Have looked through the fires operating manual and it says that the LPG version uses a type 92 and size 190 jet. Any ideas where I could get one of these from? I have a corgi registered LPG fitter who ill fit the parts if I can get hold of them.

Thanks :-)

I think that we are talking at cross purposes :?

I assumed by 'stove' it was a cooker, but obviously you mean someform of gas fire.

I just had a look on Ebay and there's someone there selling LPG jets for stoves and fires.

The link is for a stove but he says to contact him because he does fires and other models.

What you are trying to do can and will be extremely dangerous if not converted with manufacturer approved parts.

I'm inclined to lock this thread on Health & safety grounds, before it gets out of hand.

As stated an rgi will be able to get the parts if available.

Suprised you left that link Scruff.

If he insists on doing it himself theres lots of helpful info here

I didn't, just in a hurry earlier.
