Are connector blocks suitable and safe to use to join cable together. Providing the correct amperage connector block is used ?

Hi Stu_p

Yes connector blocks can be used to connect cable together as long as you use the correct amperage, but the joint must be accessable at all times! You cannot therefore use connector blocks and then plaster the cables into a wall or such like. If you are intending doing this, you need to use crimps!

A junction box of the correct amperage is better but if you need to use connector blocks then it is a good idea to make the joint within a single patress (plastic backbox) and then fit a blanking plate on the front.
