Hi chaps...

Question is as above really!

What's the best way to connect up the dishwasher and washing machine wastes?

Both are next to each other and a long way from the sink (no chance of connecting to the inlets on the sink trap).

Kitchen is being completely redone from scratch. Waste will be 40mm PVC, running directly behind the appliances.

Sorry for the novice question, I've not done much with waste pipes before!

Hi DNS, I am only a DIYer (maybe an expert will give better advice) and I am not sure if it will work for you but i used something similar to this http://www.wickes.co.uk/washing-machine-tee/invt/210411/ (other shops also sell these!) I then put one into one upright and then the other into the other upright. This way I kept them seperate plus they both had a u-bend to stop smells etc.

I would use one of these, both hoses will go into the top with a bit of force

How about something like this http://www.screwfix.com/p/telescopic-ad ... 40mm/21296?

Since the washing machine and dishwasher are next to each other I would pop the washing machine waste into the top of the trap and connect the dishwasher waste to the, errrm, dishwasher bit and then run a 40mm pipe to join up with the rest under your sink
