So I have a new Thermostat for my Combi boiler, Worcester Bosch Greenstar 25si compact. The Thermostat is the Hive, just like this one: https://www.screwfix.com/p/hive-active-heating-thermostat/4632j

Can any one help me figure out how to connect this? I have attached some pics of the connectors in the boiler. And the connectors for the Hive are as follows:

N permanent neutral
L Permanent live
1 Common
2 Heating off(NC)
3 Heating on (NO)
4 unused

TBH no idea what the parts are on the 2nd picture.

(I assume that your hive is fitted and has cables)

First of all, take the white link out from L to CH

L on the boiler to L on the hive
N on the boiler to N on the hive
L on the boiler to 1 on the hive **
CH* on the boiler to 3 on the hive

*CH is yellow terminal you took the white wire from at the start.
** You could link from L to to 1 on the hive

Post pictures before you switch it back on.

All you are doing is using the hive to tell the boiler its hot enough, dont turn the heating on, it does this by the removal of the white wire from the CH terminal. If its "dead" the heating will be off, if it's "live" the heating will come on. Just like a light switch.

Ok I think I'm ready to go. Obviously I'll put some electrical tape over the bare wire connected to the CH.

Under no circumstances can you ever use the earth wire as anything but an earth wire.

See the option **

You should also use the L & N on the Orange terminal block NOT the White one.

and as before post a picture before you switch on

You could kill some one with what you have done.
