|
|
|
Hi there,
sorry if this has been covered already:
What i want to move the gas pipe for the cooker about 2 meters to the side because we are having a double doorway fitted in the kithen by the builder and the cooker is in the way at present.
So is it acceptable to use compression joints in the void under the floorboards, running the pipe parralell with the joist then back up through the floorboard?
It will be accessable if you lift the floorboards, they are cut at that area anyway and are only about 50cm long and the floorboards won't be covered i.e with carpet or tiles etc. It will only be temporary for a month or two as we are getting a new cooker installed along with a new kitchen, but we would still like to be able to use the cooker until then.
thanks in advance for advice.

Thanks for the reply.
OK, thats a no go then.
How about if i just used a compression end cap to cap it off above the floorboard for now?
And we live off micro'd grub for a few weeks!!

Yes that's ok, although I would have thought an rgi to move the pipe would be practical. _________________ Scruff |

Yes, we know where the new cooker is to go so will do as you say and get a rgi to move the pipe to there, and connect the old cooker for now. It's just the builder rang to say he's coming 2moro (friday)! Wasn't expecting him till nxt wk, so may not get an installer to come stragiht away. Luckily, the pipe isn't actually in the way of where he'll be cutting the gap for the doors, so I should be able to just pull the cooker forward a bit. He'll be cutting from the other side. See what he says when he get here. If it's a prob, we'll egt the gas sorted b4 he does that side.
Thanks again for your help. Top work, and faster than a plumber's lad on a mobile! |
