Yesterday we had our new green (on the outside only)composite doors installed, including a security chain (links with loop on the end type)just on the front door.

This is an ongoing programme by the local council, to get their homes in the area brought up to date ,and i've had my worries for a while about these multi locking doors ,due to the lever/lever locking problems nobody seems to mention, where you wouldn't be able to pull up the handle and key the door ,if you happened to open the door to someone who wasn't who they said they were,as they could just push down on their side handle ,stopping the door from being locked, not good !

And then the snapable handles, euro cylinder and lock bumping problems,so ,i read somewhere that only these composite doors come with bump proof and anti pick locks as standard, but would be grateful if someone could chip in with some confirmation to this,as i thought i could find out by removing the cylinder myself (which was held inside the door with a two piece metal frame with a hax type bolt and a small grub screw) and checking any serial which was on it,but there's nothing, only yale (i only presume the cylinders are euro type ).

Then i can see about getting some anti snap/anti bump cylinders and fitting new lever/pad handles to deal with the top problem and this will give us the added benefit of the door locking behind us (like a night latch affair),if this is easy enough to do,and since composite doors have some wood in them, fit another security chain to the back door, using self tapping screws.

At the minute we have one key stuck in the back door lock ,at a 9 to 3 angle ,so no one on the outside could stick a key in and try their luck, and each of us have our keys with us .

I do miss my old latch

Oh and hello.

If you wish to convert the door to a split spindle set up try seeing if the latch is retracted by the key.If it is then you can convert it to a lever pad set up. These door are strong if the mech is fully locked.

Hard to tell how good the euro is without more information or pictures

Aye ,i checked mine and if the inside key is in straight ,then an outside key can push the inside key out a bit,but if i turn my inside key so it's horizontal, then a key inserted in the outside can't push all the way in !

Here's a link for those pictures ,with one showing the latch in the open position and when the key is turned ,the latch is retracted into the door (also i tried to open the door when it's pushed shut just with the key and it does,(without double locking with the handle))a bit stiff like ,but it turns.

The doors were through sekura group,if that's any help?

Clearly a mistake, obvious to most  :thumbright:

The link should have taken you to their product range right, which it does, when the pdf file opens ,you were greeted with the new vectis lever product,if you had scrolled down the pdf ,you would see the rest ,(and from looking at my pictures )showing my door's fitted with the 2 hook version ,(info which seems to have vanished from my post ) info which might help you advise me on the replacement handle with the correct type of lever/pad or size spindle.
