Bloody stuff is getting to be extortionately priced these days.

Has anyone found a supermarket 'own-brand' that is any good? By the time I try a dozen or so jars to find a decent one I could have had a couple of 'proper' ones!

Seeking coffee addicts advice :thumbleft:

No never found a cheap super market brand that i'll put up with. Given up, just buy the dear stuff.
I just buy the one i like .
I had one customer that insisted on serving up some watery, unpalatable sh*t , so i took a jar of my own and give it to them , which i thought was quite funny , dont think they saw the funny side however. Should have put it on their bill really. Just to drive home the point.

I get mine while I'm away all the time, Germany is my fav - lots of shops that do means/grinds. Mmmm.

There are lots of local garden centers to me that do it as well, don't do supermarket stuff if I can help it (emergency use).

You after beans or ground?

I'm talking 'instant' at the mo. I do use ground coffee beans but only when I want to spoil myself else I'd be drinking the stuff by drip-feed. A cup of fresh coffee is better than sex (at my age anyway  ) and a lot easier to handle.

Cheaper too.

I haven't drunk instant coffee for many years now, I decided that even buying the best I could find at the time (Nescafe Alta Rica iirc) it was still just brown water which only bore a passing resemblance to coffee.

How much is it now?

I only pay about £3.00 (I always try and buy it on special offer) for ground coffee, usually South American, don't like African.

This is my current favourite: http://www.cafedirect.co.uk/explore-our ... u-organic/

Ahh, don't do instant.

I was brought my coffee machine by a mate for helping build his kitchen (if only it was cabinets...), LOVE the shots of expresso but the MESS!!! Think of the children.....THE CHILDREN!!!

You know when I've been at the machine, it's up the walls, cupboards, windows..... :cb

We have Sainsburys Gold Roast Decaff.
SWMBO doesn't like strong coffee and if youngest daughter drinks ordinary coffee she's murder, hyperactive is not the word.

Glad she doesn't live at home.

I just made myself a coffee; I use a 3 cup cafetiere which makes one sensible sized mug of coffee (half a pint) and weighing the coffee I used and doing all the maths it works out at 25p per mug.

Here it is in my new favourite mug - hot out of the kiln last weekend. :-)
