My boiler doesn’t have a magnetic cleaner, and has gotten gummed up.

I’ve been told to run Fernox' Cleaner F3 through the system, and then to use an inhibitor afterwards.

The description at https://fernox.com/product/cleaner-f3-500ml/ doesn’t mention using another product afterwards, although the container suggests Protector F1.

Is Protector F1 the same as an inhibitor?

What do you recommend as best practice?

Thank you,

Colin

Yes F1 protector is just Fernox’s name for inhibitor.

Many makes are available that do the same job.

You can run this cleaner for a few days but this would need your heating on to circulate it enough to clean it.

Best way would be to have the system and boiler power flushed, but this would be quite expensive.
