I made these a long time ago, just messing with the camera and thought Id share, the kids used to fall through the back, I made them as dining chairs, and had four in the kitchen. 40 x 6fb and 12mm square bar, the chair backs with the the fish tail scrolled ends were less than a fiver each. About £15 a chair and Ive never once had to glue them back together Thumbright

You can see they are a bit rusty, but they are old and in need of TLC

Cheers Hitch, just trying to enlighten people to what is possible. Ive got hammerite black smooth in the shed, would probably get another ten years out of them doing that.

My intention was to get some 6mm round bar, tack 4 ends together and screw up in the lathe. You can buy tassles, when you get it all together it looks like a piece of cord with tassles either end looped through the scrolls.

Most of the premade components are cheaper than you can make them.

Another finish i like on metalwork, give it a really hard wire brush (with a grinder) then get it all hot and rub wax onto it. Leave it to cool, then buff it up. Thumbright
