Any advice for a modern belfast type sink without a drainer, bought the sink from Ikea and it sits on top of the worktop, no drainer on it, I will fettle something up at work, just wondered if a product exists, this is the sink btw

http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?topcategoryId=15576&catalogId=10103&storeId=7&productId=34230&langId=-20&categoryId=15722&chosenPartNumber=80034609

Although the Belfast is a 'sit on' sink it can be presented like this

You could ridge/groove the worktop right or left and seal the side you make the drainer;
I have seen worktops that have an integrated drainer as in they come with the grooves for the Belfast sink.
Alternatively go the whole traditional route and have a tray and drainer rack,
that needs emptying and putting away when the dishes have been dried.

Or just have a dishwasher hidden and use the sink to rinse and then fill the dishwasher.

I wanted a standard belfast to do just that, Mrs wanted the Ikea one which has a large lip all the way around, it sits in the worktop cutout. Cheers anyhow.

No, that would be a dangerous game to play!

I would however suggest that she was allowed to,
perhaps use her womanly powers of persuasion
to such an extent that you where persuaded
and in being so persuaded allowed her to travel
the wrong path and without the correct technical and
practical information to hand when selecting
the said sink so therefore …..

YOU are actually to blame. Razz

You know I’m SO right!

jas you can get a hardwood drainer made to sit on the worktop which can cope with the lip of the sink
