I have just replaced a manual control valve on a radiator. I bleed the radiator and diconnected the pipes, fitted the valve reconnected the radiator, turned the water back on. then i let all the air out off the radiators. the problem i am having is no i have no hot water. I have a copper cylinder in the bathroom which dose not seem to be hot. I have had the water on all night, but still have no hot water. The wife is not very happy. Does anyone have any ideas as to why. Thanks Confused:

yes there is an air lock in the cylinder coil.

There should be a bleed valve on the top of the coil pipe work

it wont be at the top of the cylinder but at the side on the top of the two side pipes that heat the coil

is there a drain point on the hot water circuit, try draining some water out of this if so

I'm no expert on these types of systems!

When you open the hot water tap in the kitchen or bathroom does nothing at all come out?

If it doesn't then you can remove this type of airlock by placing a hosepipe from the hot to the cold tap and then open them both. The mains water pressure will force the airlock out of the pipework.

If you have a monobloc mixer you can hold a towel firmly over the end of the mixer spout and then open the hot side and then the cold side, this should force the airlock out.

the air lock will be in 5 the coil.

it is good practise to have a bleed valve at point 4 but lots dont.

uhms tip for getting rid of an airlock wont work in this instance as the airlock is not in the hot water supply pipework.

there should be a drain point at some point between 3, 4 and the boiler, try flushing water through this

do you have a 3 port valve ?
