Seen a few posts about people getting their heating on now.

Who is using their heating yet? We try and hold out until October, but getting a bit chilly!

I heat my house with wood and i haven,t even started cutting any of it yet . I go without heat up until the end of october.

I've got an OAP's fixed price contract; same cost per month however much I use.

Stoday - is that fixed price based on occupants, or size of house/# of rooms, etc?
Been wondering if my mother should be on that kind of tarrif

got it on for an hour in the morning and same at night ,bloody weather

Ours has kicked in the last 2 nights but not stayed on for long.As long as the little un is warm i happy.

Number of rooms. My house is over 200 sq m but only has 2 bedrooms. Daft, innit?

I'm in a mid terrace so no heating...yet.

But, I've just finished installing heating for our GuineaPig who lives in hutch outside the kitchen window. I used an Oven tray placed upside-down in the hutch with a 40w bulb screwed to the base, cabled with 3core so the tray is earthed. Then plugged into a 2way dimmer and timer.

The little rodent now gets ~30w of lightbulb heating 12hours a day to stop it catching a cold while he's sleeping :0)
