 Post subject: ceiling lights help!

Hi,

Ive just purchared a new ceiling light, wired it up and blown a fuse. The black and red wires are confusing me. Please see pic.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Take the 2 reds fro where they are now and put them both in the "spare" block on the left of your pic..remove one of the 2 black wires from the far right block, and put it in the block that currently has the 2 reds in..

So 2 reds together..

Earths to earth..

Black to Blue

Other Black to Brown...

and isnt that a bare live wire there, probably shorting out on the light fitting

No bare wires, they were all plugged in. Thanks for the speedy reply. Ill try this and then get some new fuse wire -_-

Possible [url]some[/url] brown but a lot of exposed wire I think :dunno:
