The wife is going to set up a stall tommorow at 4 in the morning  The place is only 15 minutes away in the car

I can't believe the amount of rubbish that we have :?

Everything from Vases, Martial Arts stuff, Clothes, and a Rocket Chef.
to name but a few.

According to her pal who she is going with, you can sell practically anything.

Clothes and childrens toys are popular sellers with Asylum seekers apparently.

Lets hope it is a good earner :thumbright:

I tried it a couple of times and was astounded at what goes on.We had people trying to take stuff out of the car as we were about to unload, had to persuade them it wasn't best for them to do that !!
People haggling over something that is a pound and others demanding a F*****g carrier bag was enough to put me off for life.
Ebay or charity shop now.

Oh yes, not half, I do them a few times a year, and you have to have the patience of a ferking saint.

We know the worst culprits, the ones who come over with thier arses hanging out of thier trousers, get everything going, then argue over 5 pence, I kid you not, I just tell them to go away. (not as polite)

As I have got used to them now, I hike the price up, so they walk away in disgust.

I have literally taken an item out of someones hand and threw back in my van, as was fed up with them, theres loads of stories I could tell you, but I would probabaly be prosecuted if I wrote exactly what I said. :cussing:

I'm with lockie - Just can't be doing with the hassles of either selling in a car boot or buying at one.

Besides, my car's already got a boot - don't need another one

She came back at 3pm. Made £140 :thumbright: Not bad.

The first thing that she sold was a CD of mine by Dirty Old Ba...rd. The wife said that a man in his 70s bought it

She sold everything even pot plants with the dirt still in them :wtf:

We tried it, did well at first, people gave us stuff to sell as well. But we suffered from shoplifters, folk who wanted everything at half the asking price, with a discount on two. Gave up when we counted up the numbers of hours it took up every weekend. Now I either give stuff to charity shops, or sell it at our local secondhand shop. The car boot sale idea was good when it was an amateur thing, but now it is a full-time job for many, and a useful outlet for stolen property.

Good going that. We've done 3 in the last two years. Made £90 odd in July this year. Had to leave the house at 05:30 -

The one thing we've learned is to avoid the traders that are out at that time trying to offer you rock bottom for your "better" stuff. We tend to hold onto it until the public start arriving and get more money. 'Course there's always a risk that you end up stuck with items  .

LB.
