I have a modern computer running Vista.

The internet ISP is AOL.

Previously I had no difficulty viewing U-Tube but now it sill not show anything and suggests Javascript is not turned on or I dont have the latest issue of Flash.

"""Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player."""

When I look at javascript it seems to be all active as expected but it does not have anywhere to just turn it on or off.

The problem may have occured because I was getting lots of prompts to download the lastest version of Java and I did that and its probably from that point it stopped working.

The Flash Player is another potential problem! I have downloaded the latest version but that says its downloaded but does not present me with any "instal" icon and leaves me wondering if its really downloaded and installed.

Any ideas?

Tony

We get the same message about the latest Javascript but only when trying to view certain videos. We can still see most of the Youtube stuff though.

Thats odd!

Your site recognises me and allows me to post on here.

When I follow that link, it does not recognise me and wants me to log in which I dont seem to be able to do and when I ask it to send me a password reminder it does not recognise my email address!

Thats interesting!

The first time I clicked it took me to the U-tube page which gave me the same error:-

six and a half loves - chapter one: "goodbye"

Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player.

I cleared that and then it played in your posting!

But it might not be appropriate for you to have to post up some of the more adult themed videos I might watch!

Any techies about who can understand whats going on?

Tony

Download the latest version of Java from here

Uninstall all versions of Java from Add or remove programs in the Control Panel. Do the same for Flash.

Restart your computer.

Double-click the downloaded Java file to install it.

Then go hereand install Flash through your browser. Just run the file and a small clip plays to verify it's installed properly.

I did that ( as I have done before ) but it made no difference!

I am not 100% confident because when its downloaded it does not give me any option to run or install like most similar programs!

Whats the point of downloading a new version and then deleting it along with any older versions?

I will try deleting old Java and then downloading. However I think there is another problem going on there which I will explain if I remember correctly.
