Assume you mean the spout.
Turn it so it's facing the window, and if you pull upwards as you go it should pop out.

Thanks thescruff.
I meant the tap handle. I took off the spout last nite to have a good clean but it is still dripping.
I have managed to take off the screw but was not able to put it off the main body to replace the washer. Is there a special device i should be using to take it off.
Many thanks.

The handle should just pull off once the screw is out.

Sometimes they get stuck to the spline.
You can try and spray it with WD40, give it a few squirts over the next few hours.
I have had tap heads that have taken a hell of a lot of force to remove in the past!

Another thing is that the tap looks like a quarter turn tap and so it might use a cartridge instead of a washer.

Take the screw out and tap the lug with the plastic end of a screwdriver or something similar, it's just a bit tight on the splines.

Dear all,
thanks for all of your reply. I have tried all your methods, tap it with screwdriver, seems to making it worst.
I will try to buy another mixer tap now. To replace it i have to turn off the hot water supply.
I have another question with regard to the hot water supply. I cannot turn the hot water supply off. I am unable to locate the tap for hot water supply to turn it off.
We have a ecoTEC combi boiler.
Any advice apart from getting the local plumber out?
many thanks.

Turn the cold mains off and the hot will stop as well.
