Hello all
Please can you advise
My mum closed her patio door last night and she told me that she heard a loud drop from the door
The handle is rock solid won’t move down at all
The key seems to be turning good in the barrel
The door opens outwards
I have heard of drilling the barrel but would this do any good
Any help on this please ?

Thank you all Paul

ps the door will not open !!!!

wood or plastic ??
assume plastic??
a loud drop assume means a loud noise and a "thump" assuming gravity took hold

it sounds like the mechanism has become detached from the handle

i am assuming you have checked the door is unlocked

you will have to wait till someone with more than 2 brain cells comes along to get a sensible answer on this topic :thumbleft:

If the door has dropped it may be possible to open it by lifting the whole door by the handle whilst turning it..once open it should be easy enough to make any necessary adjustments...

You might have to remove the door, via the hinges so you can then gain access to door handle and locking mechanism.
