Hi everyone,

My old trusted plasplugs tile cutter has finally had it's final days!

Can someone please recommend a new tile cutter?

I believe you can get one like the plasplugs cutter that will also cut textured tiles, but I can't remember the name!

TIA

Hi Jackster,

I believe the tile cutters made by Rubi are very good, apparently you can get different wheels for them that can cut textured tiles.

I haven't done any tiling for a long while but just out of curiosity is there one particular wheeled tile cutter that will cut every type of tile, such as marble, ceramic, porcelain or natual stone?

My gut feeling tells me that a wheeled cutter will not cut stone tiles, but just to be sure I thought I would ask!

Thanks

As you thought, you can't cut stone tiles with a wheel cutter.

You need a wet cutter, a water fed diamond cutter. And even then you really need different blades for different materials if you'll be using it with any regularity.

Hi there Hello plasplugs cutters are very cheap and will slow you down and more than likely not do a good job no matter how hard you try. Boxing If they're what you like they do make both water and standard cutters,my standard cutters are Rubi TS40 and TS60,can cost a few bob but very efficient machines with 3yr warrenty. Wink My water cutter is a vitrex, it cost £100, comes with a decent enough diamond wheel and is more than up to the job.All these cutters and more you can find at Topps Tiles and if you take 2 or 3 most recent receipts in you should get trade discount of at least 20% Shocked Hope this helps. Thumbright
