| its that bobbly wallpaper,its a large area and i would rather not have to strip it all of. |

No, the plaster needs a "proper" surface to get a foundation grip on
The moisture of priming, PVA'ing then skimming would most likely pull the paper off the wall
It's a pain in the arse wallpaper stripping but fraid it's gotta be done |

There is such a way you can do it though I would not recommend it!!
Score the wallpaper (Such as woodchip) and skim dry wall adhesive over it (don't pva)as you would multi or board finish. Skim your last coat with multi or board. I have done it twice reluctantly for property developers who haven't the time to strip the paper. Tell a lie, three times!! It works but not best practice!
Oh, if you do decide to tell a customer it will be fine, tell them if it falls of in 6 months that was against your advice. I did the third one 5 years ago and still looks good!!  |
