Hi all, I'm hoping I could get some help please.

I've been given half a dozen garden lights that I'd like to install though a bit confused as to the cable requirements. The lights are ip66 rated led floodlights, 10w each drawing 0.9amps at 12v and a spare (nothing to do with the set of lights) IP rated 80w led driver.

The plan was to operate these via a timed RCD socket in the garage, running the cable in black 20mm PVC conduit along the fence and the total cable run is approximately 15m though I planned to loop it back to the driver.

When I've tried to work out the cable gauge I need with online calculators it is suggesting 1awg/50mm2 cable which blows my plan of an inexpensive install out of the water. The calculator also suggested the load would exceed the driver spec.

Could anybody confirm the wire spec and load as correct please? By all means if what I'm proposing isn't sensible then likewise just say.

Any help very much appreciated. Cheers
Steve

methinks you've misplaced a decimal point somewhere.

1mm csa cable will be more than sufficient.

Cheers kellys_eye - must admit I'd never seen anything chunky running to the LV light sets.
