It's feckin freezing today. I'm on a travel comedown so my bodys let me get a severe bout of man-flu and the shower refuses to go over 33 degrees - which just don't cut it. I'm going to have to wear gloves soon..........REFUSE to put the heating on though!!!! REFUSE, I TEL YOU. BG

Hmmm, never got along with Waitrose before. I found more effort goes into the packaging than the food.
Perhaps I might raid a bar.....a lapdancing bar. Like rats, you're never more than a 20 quid taxi ride away.....

Gale Force winds, torrential rain at 45°, complete with tons of hailstones . . . . just typical Blackpool Illuminations weather. The gales try to blow them down, and the rain tries to short them out, but they survive with only slight damage most years. They took a beating last winter and lots were damaged so this year there are a few less to see, but still worth a visit if you live in the region. Mods, not spamming really.

BG, With your life-style you would probably like a weekend there as it is a lot of stag & hen parties and groups. There are more liquor licenced places in B/pool than any other town. A day trip is OK for families but you would not get a drink if you had to drive home the same day. If you planned on staying look for the bigger hotels, mainly up north shore so that you would at least be away from the p1ss heads at bed time. There is a Hilton and a few other big hotels, The Norbreck Castle and a few Travel Lodges now.

When it comes to travel Dave, I'm all about the place - doesn't matter where in the world I am. Also, the hotel MUST have a decent bed/shower.
To be fair, I'm not totally keen on being followed around the hotel with people carrying my sh*t.
Will discuss with the wife, she's been wanting to go for a drive - might keep her quiet for an hour or two.
