The auto analyze logs are OK but they can bring up false results.

Do you use AOL? If not uninstall all of it from Add/Remove programs. Click on the AOL Uninstaller and it will search for all versions.

I'll chuck in my 2c worth for limewire.

It is possibly one of the safest ways to guarantee getting MORE viruses and spyware on your system Thumbright

You're at risk from getting virus's from anything because you don't know who you're downloading from or what it is. Any idiot can rename a virus as a popular music track and make it available for sharing. If you really want to do it, scan everything you download before you open it, but even then you're not guaranteed to catch it.

is there a danger of getting paranoid about viruses etc?
I've been online now for about 12years (inc lots of email addresses) with numerous PC's both at work and at home and I've never had anything that I am aware of.
This includes downloading all sorts of questionable stuff pretty freely and often.
I very rarely scan anything for viruses (it's got to look seriously iffy for me to do that).
I don't know just asking the question?

marksson

when you did the initial log, you got a notepad document which you copied n pasted into the site,
You also had another page with all the same details, but with small boxes on the left.
When you look down the results on the webpage the ones with the "X" you look for the number on the left,
example taken from above just because it has no name... im not saying this needed fixing in there log.
Quote:

02- BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)

you would look for the 02 on that page with the boxes, and check the box, relavent to the entry. make sure you only do the ones with the "X" then press "fix checked" at bottom.

Understand what your saying about the auto logs, but my personal view is,
better to only fix the "X" than mess with anything that is raised as a "?"
for any futher help required they have the forum there with the help if you need it.
