The draincock/spigot at the bottom of my hot water cylinder appears to be broken. It just turns and turns and doesn't open. I think I may have over tightened it! Embarassed So basically I can no longer drain my hot water cylinder should I need to.

Has anyone come across this problem before? It it repairable without replacing it?

Cheers,
Glenn

No need to be embarassed Laughing it's a common problem, or to be exact the washers stuck.

What you do about it depends on the nerves or not as the case may be.

turn the DC off then open it one full turn, tap the end of the square bit it may free it, if not open it one more turn and try.

Leave the cold feed turned on to give extra pressure an don't forget the hose pipe.

If that fails you can insert a thin screwdriver in the spout and ease the washer forward, but you have to be quick with the hose.

Final choice is to siphon the water out through the top or the cold feed by removing the valve.

Don't forget to turn the immersion off in the excitement
