My Sister in Law has been paying British Gas for some sort of insurance policy for the past 13 years. It supposedly covers heating etc etc.
Her tank started leaking last week and after a FEW DAYS the man turned up. He said he had done a temporary repair but she needed a new tank and it was hard to get hold of and expensive. She didn't care as she has the policy and will not have to pay.
She has now had no heating or hot water for nearly a week and the tank is now leaking again.
She is being told the replacement can be fitted on the 31st!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is she entitled to compensation / expenses if she has to move to a, let's say "a warmer climate" until repaired??
Could she get a local tradesman to do the repair, then charge BG?? |

no, and no...
The contract doesn't promise anything, about levels of service.
You certainly couldn't get in someone else, without BG saying so first.
The best bet is to complain more, to the chairman, and get the repair done sooner _________________ www.hintonheating.com
