The mounting bolt that holds the attachments in place on my Bosch PMF 180E is missing. I looked on the manual but no picture of the head. What am I looking for? Does the head have a hole for a hex key? A pic would be great, and measurements too, length, width, etc please. :thumbright:

Hi Louise cannot help with size etc , but from the following link it says its hex headed bolt. I suggest you try and find one that fits from B+Q then just get a proper one from screwfix or the like, my guess is its probably an M5 or an M6 , as long as it holds the blade on it will be fine, only prob you may have is it could be a left hand thread to stop it from vibrating out but you will have to find that out .

It's a standard right hand thread from what I can remember.

I'll dig mine out of the garage in the next few days and see, If it is a Metric thread I should have a socket head bolt of the correct size in the garage.

How fast do you need the bolt?

The user manual can be found here-

bosch pmf180 E manual

It's a hex socket head bolt - for an allan key like Lou says.

Item number 45 on the diagram, Bosch part number - 2 609 000 295.

Don't see it being a LH thread, since the head vibrates in both directions there'd be no advantage to using one. So as Nick says, probably any old hex socket M5 or M6 will do the job.

Ok, something strange is going on here.

I appear to have broken the forum

All I did was include a link to the Bosch parts catalogue, does the forum software not like https links???

By the way, the bolt is a hex head socket bolt, Bosch part number 2 609 000 295.

Probably, as Nick says, an M5 or M6.

Don't think it's a LH thread, wouldn't be much point with a head which vibrates in both directions.

Your link has been broken because it contains brackets.

Some websites have such wonderful software that it makes url's that don't like being pasted on other websites.

Thanks guys! :thumbright: I hasten to add that I wasn't the one who put it away without screwing the bolt in and left it in an open box!

Panic over! The oh went to B & Q and bought an M6 20mm bolt with a washer, I just hope it isn't dangerous with an alternative fixing. It means I can use it tomorrow and keep looking for the missing part. A shame they don't put a spare in the box, it'd be an easy thing to lose in my opinion.

If they put a spare in the box it'd just rattle around and be easily lost....
:-)
